What is the function of the elevator’s guide wheel?

We should all know that any device is composed of different accessories, and for elevators, of course, it is no exception that the coordination of various accessories can ensure the normal operation of the elevator. The elevator guide wheel is one of the most important equipment in elevator accessories.

The main function of the guide wheel is to limit the freedom of movement of the car and counterweight, so that the car and counterweight can only move up and down along the guide wheel.

The guide wheel mainly increases the distance between the lift car and the counterweight, and changes the direction of movement of the steel wire rope.

The elevator guide wheel has a pulley structure, which serves as a labor-saving pulley block. When installing the guide wheel, first hang a plumb line on the floor slab or load-bearing beam of the machine room aligned with the center point of the counterweight on the sample frame. On both sides of this plumb line, hang two auxiliary plumb lines with the width of the guide wheel as the spacing, and use these three lines as the benchmark to install and calibrate the traction wheel.

1. Alignment of parallelism of guide wheel

The alignment of the parallelism of the guide wheel refers to the line connecting the center point of the lift car on the traction wheel and the center point of the counterweight on the guide wheel, which should coincide with the reference line of the load-bearing beam, traction wheel, and guide wheel positioning in the vertical direction, and the two sides of the guide wheel should be parallel to the reference line.

2. Align the verticality of the guide wheel

The verticality alignment of the guide wheel is to guide that the planes on both sides of the wheel should be parallel to the plumb line.

3. Technical requirements for installation of guide wheels

(1) The verticality error of the guide wheel should not exceed 2.0mm.

(2) The parallelism error between the guide wheel end face and the traction wheel end face should not exceed 1mm.
